  • immigrant visa denial at interview

Hi Everyone I need some help. I just got back from Jamaica I went with my 14 year old step son to his IV interview I am his sponser. The problem began at his medical the doctor asked if he ever smoked gonja and he being truefull said yes he did try it about a year ago but he only did it that once. They then did a drug test and it came out negative. At the interview the woman asked this child about his smoking and he told her that it was a year ago that he had tryed it and he hasent done it since. She started grilling him and she kept aksing him the same question (you smoke at least once a month right)he told her no mam but now she was saying come on admit it you must smoke at least once a month. he said no mam I only did it one time a year aga. she didnt let up on my step son untill she had him so scared and confused that he said yes mam that he smokes once a month because thats what he thougt she wanted him to say. She then gave him a paper that said he can't be issued a visa because section 212(a)(1)(A)(iv) use of a controlled substance I want to know if this can be appealed or can I apply for a waiver. It dose'nt seem right to me that a child would be punnished for telling the truth. again he did test negtive . I have a big problem with the way she treated him Pres. Bush admits that he tryed pot he still has his job. But a 14 yr.old good student a child who never got into trouble is now bared from the United States untill 2010. Thank You for any insite you can give me in this matter.

Yeah and maybe too seeing that he was just 13 years old when he did it maybe that didn't sat well with the interviewer.

now really....are we to believe that this dip$hit mike2007 "knows" everything that goes on in our embassies overseas, at DHS, at USCIS, etc? Just how did moron-mike2007 get first-hand knowledge of anything other than playing with himself? He is as arrogant (and misinformed) as the manatees that are slurping up bon-bons over at immigrate2us.net....look at one of this clown's silly statements..."iam sure some of the people work at the embassy smokes marijuana lol..."....really? which ones? name one, douchebag.
Anyone listening to the 'advice' dispensed by this semi-legal alien (who has apparently lied and scammed his way to the US of A and who is NOT an American citizen nor an immigration attorney nor an employee of DHS or the State Dept....is just asking for even more misery.

This boy does not smoke pot once a month like I said he admits to trying it once. He felt pressured into agreeing to what she was saying. I as an adult felt very intimadated by the interviewer she was not a very nice person. She talked down to the people she interviewed and the way she was interviewing my step son In a court room it would be called leading the witness. She is a adult in a power position and she used intimdation to get him to say what she wanted to hear. He still swears that he doesnt smoke pot and once again his drug test came up negitve. I feel a more just way of dealing with a child who did admit to smoking pot once should at the parents expense and immergrations request take the child for random drug test for maybe a 6 month period and if all test come up negitive he should be aloud to get a visa. And just becuse he smoked dosent mean he will turn into a drug dealer. Take a look around you and open your ears there a lot of people in power positions that admit to doing the same thing and worst. I'm not trying to say its ok that he tryed pot because It's not I just know that this is a great kid that he realy would benefit being around his dad and I think the penalty dosent fit the crime. We are talking about a child.

I just wanted to ad that if this boy was such a bad kid he would never have admited to smoking. I give him credit for telling the truth but what a price he has to pay. And his dad mom and I do not have our heads in the sand we do understand that we as parents need to watch our children closely and not be in denial if our children are showing signs of being high or doing things that they shouldn't be doing. I have raised 3 sons on my own and they all turned out to be great adults they never been in trouble with the law and one even works for the Sheriff's dept.

My husband and I was told to go sit down while she talked to our son. I was sitting close enough to hear what was being said. Then our other child was called for their interview and I had to go deal with that.
