    You'll think so, but as you already noticed, its simply depend on the mortgage company. Generally AOS and EAD documents will suffice for those lenders that indeed caters to immigrants.

      Thanks to all who replied. From what I gathered from your responses, AOS applicant is likely to get a mortgage provided he has the income/money and good credit history, but he'll have to ask around because some companies could be thrown off by his immigration status.

        If anyone knows of a specific mortgage company/lender that is flexible about applicants not having a green card but just the legal status, please let me know. Thanks.
