Terrorists ( Wahabists,Talibanists, Ayatolists etc.) are their own worst enemies.

Whether knowingly or not, their actions generate an outrage and a negative publicity on a massive scale.

And the proportion of forces and resources are not symmetric.
Meaning , they are not in position to terrorize and coerce nations that possess ,combined, tens of trillions of dollars in GDP and military forces.
So, in the final analysis, they (so called Muslim Terrorists) exist at the mercy of nations and people whom they terrorize.

What if one day all the victims get truly fed up and chose to elect leaders who will say "lets just nuke the s.hit out of them?"
Will all the Arabs united (something that didn't happen in last 1300 years) have anything to counter against ballistic warheads that can swipe hundreds of their towns and tens of millions of their population in an instant?

When Tancredo suggested an annihilating response in 2002 it sounded as politically incorrect and everyone condemned him on tv and papers, but who knows what the public opinion will be if the terrorists don't cease to carry out these acts of atrocious idiocy.

So, if one wanted to counter the terrorism, in my opinion, one would try to educate their masses of possible consequences that would be nothing like what they envision when they look at the issue from their perspective.

I think that if there was no support of terrorists among civilians then terrorists would disappear on their own.
You can't be a terrorist without a network of support.
Someone has to stitch the wounds, someone has to deliver food and water, someone has to deliver ammunition. They can't just go to remote mountains and jungles and fight out of total isolation.

So, whether their locals like to admit it or not, there is at least some popular aid and support for terrorists - if they continue to strike, and someone must work with those locals, explaining the dire consequences of those actions as opposed to coming to their senses and working to build a better future for themselves and peace for the rest of the world.

It's big problem. Not to be discussed or dealt with in the matter of one post or even number of posts, many sensitive topics involved.
