My fiance is waiting for her police clearance from Japan. She submitted it back on June 21st. Does she need to go to the embassy every week to check on the status of the clearance? Is there any other way to check the progress of the clearance? Online?

The embassy or consulate should contact your wife once the police checks and medical clear.

YES SHE HAS HAD HER MEDICAL AND THE INTERVIEW. WE DIDN'T KNOW WE NEEDED THE POLICE CLEARANCE UNTIL THE INTERVIEW. SHE APPLIED FOR THE JAPANESE POLICE CLEARANCE ON JUNE 21ST AND THEY SAY IT SHOULD TAKE TWO TO THREE MONTHS! I WANTED TO SEE IF WE CAN CHECK ON THE STATUS ONLINE OR IF I CAN CALL TO CHECK. I WANT TO BOOK MY TICKET TO GO AND GET MY FIANCEE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOUComment

Unfortunately, I don't have any good news, Cats. The police check is run by the Japanese police, so you, your wife, and the embassy all have to wait for that to complete.--------------------
