  • Immigration paranoia: Why are Americans being arrested?

An already controversial Obama administration push to find and arrest illegal immigrants is facing a new round of criticism from civil rights and immigrant groups, who say that documented U.S. citizens are being detained under the program. How often is this really happening? Here, a brief guide to the federal government's immigration crackdown, and some of its unforeseen consequences: Read more here

    by Alan Lee, Esq

There is no new news on H.R. 3012, the High Skilled Immigrants Act, which was put on hold by Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee. After a transition period, the bill would lift the per country quotas on the employment based categories, providing relief for natives of China and India, whose immigration in these categories is severely backlogged. I read this article in the the New York Times...and they were bellyaching about it as well.

They highlight two U.S. citizens who have been detained on immigration holds...

The first case is of a guy born in Tijuana del Norte...er, I mean Los Angeles. It turns out that, during the Clinton Administration, he was accidently deported to Mexico - which is why his name was flagged when he was arrested for shoplifting.

The second case is of a woman who has dual nationality...being a citizen of both Spain and the United States; she was born in the United States. She was tagged as a illegal because she had previously used her SPANISH passport to enter the United States. Now, why would a person use a foreign passport to enter the country of their birth??? Of cousre, now she is shouting her mouth off about how offended she is - but, it seemsto me that it's mostly het own fault!

So these two doofuses brought their troubles on themselves....who gives an ambercrombly?
there is a law that states that an American citizen MUST enter the US of A with a US passport....so that dumb pendeja did not obey our laws...and flagged....whose fault? her own. Who cares? No one.
