My husband came in 1970 was sentenced to parole fir1.5 years (1978)for possetion with intention to sell cocaine (1 gram) always worked. After he completed the parole was served with an order to be deported, he purchased his ticket and left (1984). We got married in 1982 and have 2 children he returned because of us in 1986.
We never had any problems always worked and he is an excellent husband and father. He was going through a separation at the time.
Last year he hired a lawyer that said we could adjust his status, he was able to get a permit, renew his drivers license, etc. We went to the first interview and they ask for additional papers, the problem is that when we reuturned for the second interview while waiting for our turn, our laywer said that he was afraid, that he could get detained and deported on the spot so we left, now they sent us another appointment and we do not know what to do, does he has a chance to adjust his status?? we are and older couple. Can he be deported on the spot, please any advise.
Thank you.
