Can law suit really speed up Name Check?

I have a friend who has been waiting for her naturalization interview since April 2006. She works for a State agency and has absolutely a very clean record. someone mentioned that she could file for a writ of mandamus to speed up the process. Has anyone done this? Does it work? Could it mess things up for her?

I have several friends that have been stuck in Namecheck for Naturalisation an they filed WOMS an even though sucessful in filing against USCIS. they still weren't forced to make a decision. Every case though is different from the next. Good luck to your friend.
