Vermont service center processing time for I485

Does anyone know why the processing time at the Vermont Service Center for I485 has slowed recently. On Dec 8, 2003 they were processing cases with receipt date of Jan 15, 2002. 4 months later, on Apr 8, 2004 they are processing cases with receipt date of Feb 15, 2002.

I submitted my 485 & 140 in Feb of 2003 ... the receipt for 140 said 90 - 300 days ... and it actually took 350 days to get 140 approved (got approved 10 days before the priority date).

Now the receipt for 485 said 360-545 days ... question is whats the reality check???
