Did your wife have a EAD card? Before my State rules changed very recently, I could have got my license with just my EAD.

Her EAD expired back in Jan 2005. In any event, it is too early to have anything from VAWA at least to meet CA's legal presence requirements.

Yes indeed it is a termination letter. Dont get all excited yet Klinus, Once the divorce is final she will be able to apply for the waiver.

I'm not getting all excited; just trying to find the facts.

CPR Expired July 9 '07; at this rate termination of marriage is 2012 at the earliest. So there is a long haul between now and getting some relief.

Her status was terminated because she failed to remove the conditions timely. Your asking that the petitions be cancelled did not do that. One cannot withdraw an approved petition. However, when the conditional petition did expire, Your request to withdraw the sponsership could be honored. so you are off the hook for her financially because your request was received on an expired petition. this is only way sponsership can be allowed to be withdrawn. If she filed 751waiver under ABUSE with explanation of divorce matter pending, I am sure she was able to get temporay status /referal to self petition.(i-360) as She no longer has you as sponser.
