Yup. I have evil powers too. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Well, I hope you use your powers well from now on.
I am sorry to hear about your broken arm, hope you feel better soon.
Well said on the other thread- the statistics that some look down on (because they are indisputable facts they don't like), show the true reality, and no distorting it, prejudice and bias will do.

@davdah-- all women have powers to conjure up a spell or two. I'm the queen of the shady, remember? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Thank you. I appreciate your positive comments,

One more thing . . . it's gotten old blaming Obama for all our woes. 3 branches to our government, remember?

If I had the powers, I would make my broken right arm go away. However, I pay nearly $900/mo. for health care and with two hospital visits, surgery, xrays and 3 doctor visits, I've only spent $15 out of pocket. I wish other people were so fortunate.

Beyond the scholarly anatomy of the oil spill. You really hope that Obama would fail. The graver, the sooner, the better. More oil to burn till November. Whoever suffers, who cares?

But it isn't something that won't self correct within a year or two. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Now you seem to be saying it's ok, mother nature will deal with it eventually. It might well do that but the fact remains many livelihoods have already been lost because of this and we don't know for sure what the long term effects will be. It's an ecological experiment in effect. We do know what happened in the past so we have some pointers to go by.

It's a bit like when you have a "minor" car accident. Your back feels a bit stiff but nothing apparently out of place. Not wanting to deal with the insurance companies for what you see as a minor accident/no apparent injury or sometimes the other person's company do a deal with you in return for dropping any future claims. You accept then 6 months later you have major back problems caused by the accident. Now you can't work and have no more claim on the other person's insurance. You could sue but it'll take ages and cost a fortune. So isn't it better to get what you can at the time even though it might not appear to be needed? Isn't that what Obama is trying to do for the USA? Get the best deal going.

This is an accident. Why blame it on our government? Oh sorry, it's being run not by your partymates so it'll always do wrong. But honestly, which one is more important: the oil spill containment or Obama's failure?

First, remember Exxon Valdez in 1989? It's true the major spill clean up took place over a couple of years but the effects from the oil spill remain many year later.

Then you say "Our country is being exposed to an ecological disaster". You can't have it both ways. One minute saying mother nature will clear it up and the in the next breath it's an ecological disaster. Stop with the Rand Paulisms davdah and think it through logically.

For the record, davdah was online all through my first and second postings above. But when I posted my third, he was gone. Honestly, I want to exchange ideas with him live, on-the-spot, and real-time. But it's either he's busier than I am, or he's just elusive.

Lack of action on the part of our government. Haha! Remember, I repeat, these are the people who complain about the democrats that are socialists and are for a BIG GOVERNMENT unlike their GOP gods.

The longer and the worse the oil spill takes its human and ecological toll, the better. It's a bad thing for Obama, and that's what you want. What about what's good and bad for the country? I know. You don't care. You live only for November. And you shamelessly refer to yourselves as the more patriotic ones. Give the vacuum a break!

And where is your patriotism beyond politics? By the looks of it, you side with BP this time. You hope Obama fails.

"Obama will order BP to hand over control of oil spill damage claims
President to reassure US in televised address from Oval Office... Dividends canceled."

England pensioners who depended on that fixed income will starve.

With BP being one of the largest tax providers for England this will decimate their revenue. Now, the question is. What will Obama do with all that BP money? Will he spend it on the clean up only and give back any left over? Or, will he do to BP what he did to the banks and other businesses with his spread the wealth mantra?

This is very strange. An avoidable disaster was allowed to get worse and now we have foreign companies under siege. What was that famous quote by some democrat? Something about seizing on the opportunities created by a disaster. I guess it doesn't matter who is being taken advantage of. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Dav, he is not taking over BP...only the oil spill claims. And, since you elaborated so nicely on how the English pensioners will suffer, if England doesn't get it's tax, this is most likely a tell tell sign, that BP is not paying the bigger share of its taxes here, but to the UK. What's more, I think that BP still has to pay dividends to its stock holders, but the corporation has to pay out of its own pocket.

I trust that Obama is doing the right thing! I am 100% sure that BP, if left alone would fight tooth and nail to pay for those claims.

Be a little patriotic, we are talking about the US Gulf region vs. BP.

Exactly. That's why the fines have to be so big. The effect of this disaster will be felt for decades to come. And it is BP's fault. They should be the ones who pay. Would you prefer a US Government bailout instead??
