Other than the US asking Israel to agree, why did Israel finally agree to a ceasefire? The answer is simple. It's the only way out for Israel after failing to achieve her goal of catching the Hezbollah leader and eliminating the Hezbollah fighters. In other words, Israel has clearly lost the battle. Why should they agree if they had the upperhand? They couldn't fight a ground war. In the meantime, Israel troops are still in the Lebanon border. The Hezbollah fighters are still there. If you have these two sides still in one place, it's not hard to predict that this ceasefire won't work...won't last long.

All these wars and conflicts are mostly the leaders' decisions. Most often, the soldiers and people don't want any war. Who would want to hurt and kill civilians? Women and children?
Who wanted this Iraq War? It was not the American people. It was only Bush and his oil associates' plan and wish. Who wants this Lebanon fighting? It's again Bush and Israel's Prime Minister. The Israel Parliament is now investigating the Prime Minister if what he did was right. Even the people of Israel didn't want this war. Wars are made by those leaders on top.

Who are the victims? They are still the poor civilians. Out of more than 1,000 killed in this battle between Israel and Hezbollah, 90% of these were civilians. This alone tells us that this war should never have begun.
