As Swissnut indicated, affidavits are optional; however, what you want to do is send as much evidence as necessary and the general rule of thumb is to include affidavits that are substantiated by other documents. In other words, it never hurts to send more than necessary.

Yes. They are optional, and the instructions indicate that too. Each case will vary.
