You can read my posting regarding my status "DV Lottery winer"-Adjustment of status. Can any of you recomend any good lawyer in Detroit area? I would really appreciate it. Basically, I'm currently a student on F1 visa, with EAD card, and I won the DV 2005 lottery. My number won't come up till April probably, so I need a lawyer that is good, to push my case of adjusting a status in the US fast, and hopefully won't charge me too uch money. Any help would be appreciated.

I should think that since Detroit is a border city, there should be a number of attorneys, skilled in immigration, available.
Check Martindale and Hubbell online.

You can search areas of specialisation and location, and there's a description of each firm and the associates.

I believe that the best thing is to call the State Bar of Michigan. Read how the referral works in your State at:
http://www.michbar.org/programs/lawyerreferral.cfm
Ask for a certified specialist in immigration, someone who has been working with cases like yours.

I won a DV 2005 green card, and my case number will probably come out arround March/April. I'm currently in the US on a F1 visa, so I'm doing an adjustment of status. I can't start the process till my case number comes up. The problem is that I've been getting mixed messages about doing the AOS because it might take a long time, and if it's not finished till Sept 30, 2005, I loose the green card. Others are telling me that is better to change the process and do it from my own country, ie go for the interview in my country, don't do AOS. I don't know what to do, and I would ruther do the AOS in US, so I want to talk to a lawyer and see if I can get this thing pushed where I can get the green card, or should I go back.
Thanks for your help.
