A very good friend of mine has recently been trying to get a better job. He is scared, however, that a shoplifting incident several years ago might prevent anyone from hiring him.
He shoplifted (less than $300) got caught. It was a one-time offense and he received 4 days of jail time.
SHould he report this on his pre-employment application, or should he leave it off? He is wanting to get a job at a Walmart or a Lowe's, but he is concerned that they will not hire him, based on this.
Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
