me and my husband were advised by our lawyer not to go to our interview date because he says they are denying 601 waivers and would be banned for ten years. Is this correct or did we screw ourselves over. Our interview was Feb. 3rd.

When did Mexico start denying waivers? You might want to look at www.immigrate2us.net because they have a community of people filing these.

Are you or your husband already barred from entering the USA under specific term (which is my guess if you're filing for I-601)?
For one thing, how can your lawyer said for sure that you I-601 has already been denied? Does he have the notification already? If that's the case then why did the consulate schedule the interview?
Personally, I think you just sabotage your own waiver process...

My lawyer said it was in our best interest not to go that maybe they would pass some amnesty act and try our luck that way. He said he had 2 clients recently and that they're waivers were not even looked at and got the ten year ban. And stupid me I believed him so what can I do for my husband now.
