I believe one can make things right. My hubby is trying to make things right, we payed the fine and he's being punished by not being granted Advanced Parole. I DO NOT agree with Bushs' proposal however. WHy? Because even illegals can apply for the work visa WITHOUT any fines and they still get to go home when they want and the wait time for the Visa is estimated at about 6 weeks. Criminals that steal or what have you get caught, pay their fine and do their time and that is basically what illegals that want to adjust have to do. Bushs plan allows those illegals that have no way to adjust undermine the law.It would also create more "fraudulent" marriages and create another backlog for other petitions.

I don't think you understand any parts of immigration law or what the Bush-election-gimmick is about. First off, your Advandce Parole has nothing to do with long term out-of-status or illegal entrants wanting to adjust their status here. These days, an AP is worth nothing anyway, because even if an alien holds it in his hand, after a travel abbroad it is in no way a ticket back to the U.S.

The initial idea was that a LEGAL alien may apply for such a think than he or she does not qualify for travel at the present moment such as during adjustment proceedings, but extraordinary circumstances arise that make a travel a must; a life threathning situation, terminal disease, court or jury duty etc.

The AP is not for somebody who cut the line and entered the U.S. illegally, married a U.S.citizen and is in the process proving the bona fida part of any part of his life to the U.S. government and becoming impatient so he can travel back home to shove off that he's an Americano now...

Bottom line is if your husband entered uninspected after 1994, he can not travel, with or without the AP. He will most likely be removed if Bush's propasal will not pass through one way or the other (most likely some form of it will be approved in the near future). So unless he wants to leave the U.S. for a long time or forever, he better gets adjusted to the idea that there won't be any shoving off in his homecountry for a while..
