I'll second Cisse. This is one of the things that your congressperson (your choice of the two senators of your state or the representative of your district) will straighten out quickly.

And for others who have letters like this, I hope you send the response certified mail. If they question whether you responded within 30 days, you need an official, dated receipt.

    Dcherrie,

I would strongly recommend that you contact your congressman.

Sometimes, the customer services representatives at the local office have no clue of what the are talking about. They just look at a screen to see what they have in their system. If by the day you spoke with them about your case, they had not updated their system, you wont be able to get the right info. If the congressman contacts however, they will have to dig deeper and you will be able to have a clear idea about your case. And this might take less than 2 weeks. So why waste your money and time? Lets your congressman office handle it.

    Hope this help.

Note: Congressman is for man or woman.

It's been a very long time since I've been on this site. I don't know where to begin w/all my problems. July 2003 I submitted my I-90 application to the Boston office. As of now December 2004 I still haven't rcv'd my greencard back. In February 2004 I submitted my N-400 application. In April I had my appointment for my finger prints. In July 2003 I rcv'd a notice that fee's went up and I owed $70 more pretaining to my I-90 application. Since I didn't want nothing to happy w/my green card I sent the check because I felt that my application for citizenship was taking to long. On October 25 I was in the local office and asked the officer I spoke w/about my interview date. I was told that my application was rcv'd into that office on that same date, and I should hear something w/in the next 3 months inreguards to my interview appointment.

I knew something was very wrong w/my application because all my family and friends that submitted there N-400 application after me rcv'd there interview appointment date letters. On November 17,2004 I rcv'd a letter from INS I thought finally my appointment date. To my surprise when I open the letter and went into a state of breif shock because the notice I rcv'd stated that I missed my appointment on November 10, 2004 @ 2pm and I had 30 days to explain why I missed my appointment. I called the next day to costomer service, was told that I needed to submit a letter to the local Boston office. I wrote 2 letters and put them in the mail. I week later I went to the Boston office to explain to them that I never rcv'd my letter for interview. I was then told again that it would take 3 to 4 months for INS to get in contact w/me for a new interview date.

I don't know what to do right now. If I don't get another appointment am I able to re-apply again for my citizenship? This year has been one stressful year for me. I don't have money to waste.

I really needed to vent this out because I find all this stress is driving me crazy. If anyone has any positive feed back to give please do all the negative feed back right now I do not need it.
