I am just wondering. I am not experienced with visa information but i know someone who wants to visit usa from india. he has family in NJ and other usa states. however i am not sure the embassy will give him a visa. is it worth it to get a lawyer? he will be sponsored but already applied last year and was declined. any help here?

It's probably not worth it to get a lawyer (I'm not one) because there's really nothing one could do. Granting visas is purely at the discretion of the State Dept. and the presumption is that everyone is an intending immigrant. It is up to your friend to prove he's not, which he apparently didn't manage to do. He needs to exhibit strong ties in his home country to prove he'll return there and having relatives in the U.S. probably worked against this, ironically enough. There is no legal right for a foreigner to visit the U.S., so what would a lawyer do?
