Obama denounces Jeremiah Wright, Obama denounces pastor Wright's 9/11 remarks,
March 15, 2008 · 2 Comments
Barack Obama denounced remarks made by his pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Obama most criticized comments against the United States and accusations it's leaders brought on the Sept. 11 attacks by spreading terrorism. Here are some of Jeremiah Wright's and Barack Obama's remarks:
Wright said, "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," Wright said. "We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost."
Wright said, "The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ˜God Bless America.' No, no, no, God **** America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God **** America for treating our citizens as less than human. God **** America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."
<span class="ev_code_RED">"I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies," Obama said. "I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Reverend Wright that are at issue</span>."
"Reverend Wright preached the gospel of Jesus, a gospel on which I base my life," he wrote. "... And the sermons I heard him preach always related to our obligation to love God and one another, to work on behalf of the poor, and to seek justice at every turn."
Yes iperson.. it may be too little too late <span class="ev_code_BLUE">Can you even imagine this type of talk being preached in a church?? What about the messge of religion... isnt that why it is called church</span>

Well
Cant really speak on any of the generalizations that you made there but I find it hard to believe that you can believe that a black church is just to have gospel singingActually, I cannot understand why there is such a thing as a black church or a white church. Isnt it all suppossed to be christian church and shouldnt they all be intermingling?
I didnt look at obama as a black candidate. just another democratic candidate . just another american running for office. But somehow now, after the pastor wright and louis farakhan associations have come to light, the situation I have to step back and wonder.
Obama is not my choice anyway, because he is a socialist in some ways even worse than hillary. But my concern is the racist overtones of the pastor wright (his spiritual advisor?) It makes me wonder about sincerity. I mean if he has been going to church there .. he must have been listening to this stuff. it was not appropriate for a church sermon. it was politically charged.
America is heading for a crisis.. America as a whole needs to be addressed. We dont need someone with hidden agendas.
<span class="ev_code_RED">What i dont understand is why Obama long ago did not step away from these people?? Surely he is not that naive to know that this could hurt him in the long run. Bad political move.</span>

For people like McCain and many Republicans, those values don't exist </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
This is not integrity iperson. It was arrogance and stupidity. BEcause now you see in the last moment, he has denounced his "friend" for political jockeying.

He did not denounce his friend. He repeatedly said the pastor is a close friend of his.
Obama said he denounces some of his speeches, which he was unaware of.
But of course he was aware of them. He was aware long before he started to run for president that Wright posed a risk, and a problem. He knew this could come up sooner or later.

Oh he was claiming to be unaware of those statements? Well now that he is aware. all he is doing is denouncing the statements (wink wink "friend") Why would you want to be friends with person of that mindset, unless same mindset existed? hmmmmmm
