a few weeks before NVC sends file to the consulate, and then it depends on the country...

In my experience, it takes roughly 3-4 weeks from the time you've sent something in to the time the next parcel arrives.

The interview depends on what country you're going through. For New Zealand, our interview date is a little over 7 weeks after our cases were complete at the NVC (completed Jan 11th, interview Mar 5th). Other countries can take much, much longer due to a higher number of potential immigrants.
