It was an advised given by the officer who interviewed me and stamped my passport. I'm not that knowledgeable about it, and since he advised me to inform my lawyer about it then I assumed that it is indeed necessary to close it.

Why does it matter? You already have your GC approval and I-140 IIRC, is non-transferable to another person (unlike Labor Cert).

Hi everyone,
I just recently had my AOS interview employment-based and the officer stamp my passport for I-551 processing. After 4 years of waiting, my GC has been finally approved. But the first I-140 submitted by the crook agent is still open in another service center (got approval from the second I-140 and I-485). My lawyer told me that they can't do anything about it, and it is the responsibility of the first petitioner to revoke the first I-140. But since I can no longer hold of the agent who deceive me and just took my money, is it possible for me to write a letter of request to the service center to close my still open I-140? Please help me on how to do that.
