Is there need to apply for extention of I-94

I am parent of USC,presently in U.S. on visit visa.Applied for A.O.S, application pending.My authorised stay (I-94)expires on 03/18/04.
My question is am I required by law to get my authorised stay extended or forget about it and wait for the decision on my A.O.S application.
My other question is when should I expect appointment for Finger print?
