  • NEW COMPROMISE BILL INTRODUCED IN SENATE

I have just received the newest compromise bill which reflects the Hegel-Martinez compromise language as well as a number of additional changes reflecting amendments pending at the time of the recess last week. There are a number of additional new sections making the bill come in at a whopping 614 pages.

Could you please give us the link of the new compromise....?

Will it be debated this year or after the November election?

This Bill was a compromise (Hagel-Martinez) and it failed to pass on Senate floor before recession.

Yes, but S.2611 & S.2612 were introduced into the Senate during the RECESS. They are identical to the Hagel/Martinez compormise. One will go to the Senate Judiciary Committee and the other directly to the Senate in case Frist decides to bypass the Committee and bring it to the floor under rule 14.

Formal introductions will probably occur when the Senate reconvenes. The GPO doesn't have the bills up on their website yet.

Bunch of BS - that's what it is all about.
                    Politics - as usual..
