Like I said before.......this matter is not even up for debate.

A US Passport is an OFFICIAL Document recognized by our US Gov't (PERIOD)

According to the law (22 USC 2705) a US passport is proof of US citizenship during its validity. Unfortunately, passports expire after 1, 5, or 10 years. Naturalization certificates, certificates of citizenship, consular reports of birth abroad, and birth certificates are proof of citizenship which do not expire.

It is a very good idea to have one of these four documents and a passport.

          Correct.

Now by virtue of your US Passport expiring every 10 years as an adult........does NOT mean your US Citizenship 'status' expires as an individual. In other words, you are still a USC regardless.

            Yes
A US Passport is an OFFICIAL Document recognized by our US Gov't

            BUT
            for long term ,
YOU MUST APPLY FOR THE CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP.

-I have filed Passport application for my son , on 23 rd june '04 (Day i became Citizen)
            and
also filed yesterday N-600 (MUST FILE)

-It is advisable to file For BOTH

-Now how long it takes in California to get Certificaate of Citizenship?

            Thanks
