due to its antiquated technology and failures ofmodernization

6. LETTERS
(a) Dear Weekly Editor:
A letter by Zin (IW 01/02/07) brought me to task for not wanting
illegal aliens in the USA. I quote one line: "Unless one plans on
answering to Homeland Security Security when one pass(sic) thru
the Golden Gate." If Homeland Security is monitoring traffic over
the Golden Gate looking for terrorists, yes I will talk to them
before passing thru. I hope that address' letter writer's
concern--if they were referring to the Golden Gate Bridge in SF.
Another letter by Bibi Wahaab (IW 01/02/07), suggested that I
should remember that all illegal aliens are not criminals. Drug
dealers, murderers, thieves, rapists, etc. make up only a small
percentage of the illegal aliens in my Country. Those with that
kind of mindset are going to be even more unwelcome in the USA.
The USA has borders. It is illegal to cross them without legal
entry papers. That's why we refer to at least 12 million aliens
in our midst as illegal aliens. Illegal as in against the law.
If it is OK to break our border crossing law, why not others?
Like driving without a license, without insurance, leaving the
scene of an accident, yes, including bringing in and selling
drugs! At the present time we have 3 capital murder trials going
on where my wife and I live All 3 involving illegal aliens.
Criminals the moment that they crossed our border illegally. I
sincerely hope that this clarifies our point of view. Hunger and
lack of work and opportunity does not give anyone the right to
cross our border unlawfully. I honestly think that many
understand that, but refuse to accept it.
Ken Roberts
(b) Dear Weekly Editor:
I'd like to say that I find it ironic that the military-
industrial complex which has at its roots an extremely racist and
xenophobic form of conservatism is now embracing immigrants,
albeit as cannon fodder, by pretending to offer them a helping
hand. Are the wealth and profits of the American ruling class
really so valuable that they must be defended by "lowly"
immigrants (and minorities) which have for so long been the
targets of the hatred of and oppression by that same class? Just
as the slaves were the ones who protected their masters, the same
masters who abused and murdered them, many immigrants are now
being bribed into protecting a nation which has abused and
murdered poor people all over the world for 200 years. What
hypocrisy.
