This is what i have done last month and it's more convenient, call the toll free number 800-829-1040, and tell them you need a copy of your tax return, they'll mail it to you right away and you'll get in 3 days.

longtimehere,
I walked into my IRS office (indianapolis,IN), they refuesed to print it for me, the procedure has changed they said. I fill out 4506-T and then submit it to them, they will mail it to me in 10 business days.

Just thought I would give a quick hint what to do if you need copies of your taxes for an application and can't locate your copies:
option 1:
Submit IRS form 4506, one form for each year, to obtain official IRS copies for your TAX returns. Cost: $39 each
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-fill/f4506.pdf
option 2:
Walk into your IRS office and be very polite and every local office has an ability to print you out a Tax Return Transcript. It is just as acceptable by INS and best of all FREE. You can also request FREE transcript via IRS form 4506-T but it will take longer vs just walking in and having local IRS agent print you 6-8page transcripts for each year.

Hope this helps.
