  • Detention & Bond

When the INS arrests somebody for visa violation and put him in detention.
Can he pay bond and get out of dentention and how much the amount of bond?

Who can bail him out, can he bail himself or somebody from out side should bail him?
P.S the person does not have any criminal's or arrest record, only immigration violation.

    Thanks

the judge sets the bond depending upon how much of a flight risk he poses.

unless they're mexican. In which case htey're just dumped at the border so they can turn around and run back in again.

Other Than Mexicans (OTM's) can rot in jail for years.

The usual process is that either the BCIS supervisor can get permission to offer bond to someone they feel is not a flight risk, or the judge can permit bond at the initial hearing. The amount is not set but amounts of $5000 and $7500 are not uncommon, depending on the violation.

People who have access to their money while in detention can arrange their own bail but otherwise another person must do it. Do a search on Google or other web search for "bail bondsmen" to find someone in your area, get details and compare fees. Good luck
it was like that when i found it... honest!

There're usually a few bail bond joints within walking distance around any jail that the CIS rents detention space in.

          Cheers.
