This woman may have a lot of problems that you don't know about. You simply cannot move to another country and stay. If this woman intends to remain in the US she needs a visa. Chances are when she entered the country she said she was coming to visit her cousin, that means she is to visit and leave. She is not authorized to work and she cannot legally stay past her visitors visa expiration date.

I am sorry that she had an abusive boyfriend. I hope she can put his life together soon. I don't think residing in the US without proper documentation (assuming this is the case) will end her troubles.

Seriously, listen, NOBODY has to leave her country and travel half way around the world to get away from her boyfriend. Like ALL women, especially foreign women, SHE IS LYING !!!! Does her story make even the slightest sense? They have police and courts in Switzerland just like they do in America. Why is he hitting her do you think? Why is she so afraid to go back? Why can't she get police protection there? How did she afford to come here? I will bet you that she stole alot of money and can't go back.
