  • Citizenship question

My husband's citizenship application is being processed, and he is waiting for his interview date. While he is waiting for his interview date, he has to leave the country for a few months. Can he travel out of the country while waiting for his interview date?? Will this affect his getting the citizenship?? Should he travel or not??

There is nothing to prevent a naturalization applicant from traveling internationally. Well, except for the requirement for the applicant to preserve residence and physical presence. Don't travel longer than six months. Don't accumulate more than half your residence requirement outside the US. If the interview date is missed, make sure to confirm that USCIS will reschedule it (Congresspeople work pretty well for this.)
