  • travelling after approval notice

a typical case of murphy's law:
i'm planning on travelling abroad this coming weekend for about a week. i have a valid advance parole which i had been planning on using.

over the weekend, my approval notice came, howver i still don't have a physical "green card". INS tells me that my "advance parole" is no longer valid because my case has already been approved. they recommend that i get a stamp on my visa but infopass system is currently down in our region (chicago service center).

any alternatives?!? it's very important that i travel. should i get a lawyer? if i do, would it cost a fortune?

    thx for any advice!
