hi, quick question
my mom is about to file i-130 for my sister; along with other docs she's submitting translation of her birth certificate. is it ok if she translates sister's birth certificate by herself, notarize it(certifying that the translation is true and correct),or does it have to be some translation agency??
here's what it says in the i-130 instructions:
Translations. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English.
when we were submitting her n-400, we also included her birth certificate translation, which we translated ourselves and just notarized it. it worked, no one said anything.
can we do the same thing with i-130, or do we have to get it translated by translation agency?
thanks!
