How about a Bill to assist legal immigrants for once?
The ones who have been separated from their families for years because they believed the Notice of Action that stated an I-130 petition "usually takes 180 to 270 days to process". (2,190 days later and still waiting!)
The ones who sent their children back to a dangerous home country to prevent them from becoming "out of status".
The ones whose families would have been eligible for the "amnesties" if they had stayed here illegally instead of obeying the immigration laws.
The ones who invested their life savings in this country - the USA.
The ones who have sold precious possessions, cashed in insurance poloicies etc. to pay lawyers who have been less than helpful or worse, misled them.
The ones who started businesses in the USA and created jobs for US citizens and residents.
The ones who have to wait for countless years for cases to be processed, because immigration officials are wasting precious time on illegals and processing an insane Green Card Lottery program.
In other words - how about a bill to help the fools who believed the legal way to immigration was the only way!!

I agree with you. There should be more help for the ones paying their way to stay / be legal in this country. They go through a lot more than anyone can realize, but there is no support system or help for them. I agree that we can be called fools because we thought that by obeying laws, we would get awarded, but now that is not happening. Instead these people wants to enforce a law for people who haven't even make an attempt to be legal.
Maybe we should write a senator, Snow, but what good would that do???

I have written to my Senator, but other than an expression of sympathy, there is no help or encouragement forthcoming. After all - what is the policy that is most likely to generate votes?
