I married in 2001, brought my husband to the United Sates and have subsequently for out that I was just a means of getting to the United States. In talking with an immigration officer I was told that I could withdraw my petion for my husband, who has been here only five months. Does the petition withdrawal really work in removing the conditional status of this person? What happens after? I am so desparate for this person to be gone because I have also had threats against me, as he found out that I was contemplating withdrawing the petition. INS laws are so weird that I fear he probably will be allowed to stay here and ruin my life somehow.
