  • Need Help After Interview

I have been interviewed for I-485 marriage base (USC). The officer at the end of interview write in the passport I-485 pending MY EAD A# and IRG and said everything is fine here by putting hands on my file you'll hear from us in mail because we need to see what is in your previous file and we order file already (I have provided a copy of previous EAD and A#).

I was the applicant of Late Amnesty (CSS/LULAC) and this application was filed more than 13 years ago in SEPULVEDA, CA. EAD granted and able to renew it from 91 - 98 from New York. Since the initial application filled in 1990 I have not send anything to them, only documents attached to the application was my birth certificate and medical. Information in application was filled by someone which I don't remember neither I have a copy.

My question is how long INS/BCIS keep the files of the cases like this where no followup is made. And information that old can effect the information given after 11 years (since my current application was filled two years ago).

Is this a routine procedure to check previous files if you apply for any other immigration benefits.

Approximatly how long BCIS usually takes to reply the case like this. The officer told us it could take 2 weeks or more than two months. My feeling is the file was already requested for sometime but no find.

    Please reply.
