My mother filed an I-130 for me in June, and I'm not sure which board I should look on to check if they are now processing.

Should it be

After the petition has been approved, you should be checking the State Department Priority Dates.

If your mother is a Permanent resident, that would be the Family Based F2B category.

If she is a USC, that would be the Family Based F1 category.

This is under the assumption that you are not married.

1. I have checked the california service center processing times and they are processing receipts from 6/6/2002 we filed 5/6/2002 does this mean I should hear from them soon.

2.Why does the state department processing times take so long it looks like I am going to be waiting at least 3 yrs it seems to be going month by month is this true?

3.my last question once my i-130 is approved can I adjust my status
