  • Port of Entry and Final Destination Question

My family will be leaving soon and is about to get a visa. My mom was petitioned by her mother under F3 and my grandmother is a USC and is currently in the Philippines for a visit but she resides in Guam,USA. She's 70 plus years old and so our uncle is the one who became the co-sponsor
for the affidavit of support and is actually in Guam, USA too. everything is fine.

My question is, my mom wants to go straight ahead to Mainland USA particularly in California where one of my uncles is there, although not the one who co-sponsored the affidavit of support, is it possible to go straight to Mainland USA after getting the green card? or we have to go first to Guam, USA?

or is it possible to tell the consul in the embassy that our grandmother will be joining us in Mainland USA where we wish to settle.

whats the rule with regards to the port of entry or final destination?

once you have the US permanent visa, can u immediately enter any US territories?

    pls advise.

    thanks,
    alley dominador

      Hi,
I think I can answer your question. I'm not in favor of your parents flying to mainland instead of going to the place where they had the petition and the one who sponsor them. That's why they ask in the form your port of entry. That's the way they can detect if you're lying.I think Consulate are so particular about it. Just put your destinantion/port of entry in Guam then settle in the mainland afterwards.
We have the same situation as my parents, they're on the process of getting thier visa under F4 so I can relate well to your question.
      Good luck!
