If you get married while you are in deportation proceedings, the presumption of fraud is even stronger. That is, you have to prove with higher proof that your marriage is bona fide and not entered into just to get immigration benefits.

If you are in deportation proceedings you won't be able to file for AOS with the BCIS, but instead would have to adjust in immigration court. In many BCIS district/sub offices they won't allow you to file an I-130 but instead would ask you to file that with the service center. In that case, it could be a while before your I-130 is approved for you to ask for adjustment.
