  • I have a new Question about the NVC and I-129F

Hey everyone. I would first like to thank everyone who has been replying to my posting and giveing me great feedback and helping me out. I had called the NVC just to check to see if the approved I-129F file from TSC has made it to the NVC but not yet. I wanted to know if AHalow and the rest of the people who have replied could answer another new questions for me please. When i first filled out the I-129F in the last question which asked me which Embassy would I like my fiance to go to I have put New-Delhi, India. Now a while back a memer of this board replyed and told me that they will send my fiance to Mumbai US Embassy since my wife lives in Ahmedabad which is in the state of Gujarat. So last night when I called the NVC to asked if they had my file yet they said not yet but i also asked them about that I have placed New Delhi, India for the US Embassy but after reading the Delhi and Mumbai Embassy from the info also Julie from this board gave me. I find out that since Ahmedabad is part of Gujarat that even though I have put New-Delhi, I think the NVC will send it to Mumbai. Now my question is if the NVC sends my fiance file to Mumbai. Do you think they Embassy officers who give the interview will make a big deal out of this that I have put new Delhi and that the NVC has sent the file to Mumbai for the interview. Also I wanted to know does this cause any delay of my file at the NVC because I put New-Delhi, India and not Mumbai, India. I really did not know when fileing that based on what state my fiance lives would matter what embassy she would go to. So since the capitol of India is New-Delhi . I put New-Delhi. So if some one could please reply and tellme if this will cause problems at my fiance interview when they see that I have put New-Delhi, India and the NVC has sent the file to Mumbai and also will this casue any sort of delay on the file from NVC to the Embassy picked out by the NVC based on the time that the NVC gives for files to be processed. I once again would like to thank everyone for always give me replies to my questions. And I have learned sooo much about immigrations and about different laws from this form. I think this form has more information on immigration then the books the BCIS people keep on there shelfs.
    Thanks,
    VPatel

They don't care what you put on the petition. They asked the question on the form but made it clear the Embassey specified on the petition might not be the one they use. That one answer should have not effect on the outcome or timeframe of your application. Good luck

          VPatel,

I agree with Billiedance. This should not be a major problem. If you put the wrong embassy down, they will catch it and simply send it to the right embassy. They will not assume that this was anything more than either an honest mistake or wishful thinking on your part (assuming you actually prefered New Dehli, which you may or may not). Vpatel, my friend, you worry too much!

          Yours,

          Alex Halow
