EAD / Fingerprinting Question? MARIE plus ANYONE..please HELP!

Hey all,

My wife and I recently filed out papers for me to get a marriage based visa/GC etc. I am new to all this so my question is do you get EAD first OR fingerprinting first? Also, How long does it take to get both and in what order.

By the way, I heard TX is the slowest processing center for GC. How is Atlanta? How long does it take to get a temporary GC and can you travel with a temp GC or not? Please clarify and THANK YOU in advance....

Hi Chusk,
I haven't got my EAD card yet. I checked my EAD status online and they told me that It is approved and had the approval notice mailed to me yesterday. I don't know when I'm going to get the card. It took them 18 working days to process my EAD at VSC. In other centers as what I gathered they usually get the card with approval notice together. I'll let you know how VSC works as soon as I get my notice. I have my fingerprint scheduled early next month so I don't know if they're going to wait for my fingerprint or not to release the card. I had my fingerprints done last month still waiting for EAD.Do you guys have any idea??

Same with me - fingerprints done but no EAD. Alas!

FP was done within a month of applying.

Waiting for EAD. As per the letter, it will take 90 days in Newark, NJ to get EAD.
