It's two years from marriage. The conditional greencard process is designed to prevent marriage fraud. So, for a new marriage (less than 2 years old), the BCIS puts the burden on the alien to prove that the marriage is bona fide by giving them a conditional greencard and then having them go through the process of removing conditions. If the marriage is already two years old by the time of the AOS interview, then BCIS issues a permanent greecard.

Thank you Tanny, but thats not what I was asking lol

I was saying some people get their Permanent GC at the first AOS interview, only if at the time of this first interview there has been 2 years since marriage or is it if there has been 2 years from the receipt date of the AOS???

Two years from the date of your AOS i.e the date on your GC. However, you can apply 90 days before.

I am pretty sure its 2 years from the day the marriage took place. Not the day od the receipt notice.

In a marriage to USC based AOS, the alien spouse will get a permanent GC if at the time of AOS interview 2 years have passed...

What day do they start counting time?
The day of the marriage or the day of receipt?
