Question about I-130 approval

Does anyone know how long it takes to get I-130 approved? I applied for my spouse in Nov 2001 and since he is on a multiple entry B1 B2 visa, can I get his status changed once his I-130 is approved. Any idea?

If you are a Green Card holder then your spouse must wait for couple of years so that his priority date becomes current. If you are USC then it should not have that much time.

I think he can do adjustment of status when I-130 aqpprove - that way get green card here in USA and not go home to get it
