THE FACTS: The reference to cages is misleading and a matter that Democrats have persistently distorted.
Trump used facilities that were built during the Obama-Biden administration to house children at the border. They are chain-link enclosures inside border facilities where migrants were temporarily housed, separated by sex and age.

#1Editing a commentThe DHS secretary warned the Dems at several hearings that CBP did not have appropriate detention facilities for the surge in families who were making illegal crossings. She asked for funds to build appropriate facilities for housing families. The Dems didn't respond to her request. They waited until later and then complained that CBP was detaining families in inappropriate facilities….focussing primarily on children because that was more advantageous politically.
