An October 23 article in The Guardian quotes Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as follows on immigration:

"Joe Biden's 5 million illegal aliens are on the verge of replacing you, replacing your jobs and replacing your kids in school and, coning from all over the world, they're also replacing your culture."

Meanwhile Trump, who began his campaign for the White House in 2015 by attacking Mexican immigrants as "criminals" and "rapists"; and, with the help of Stephen Miller, did everything possible to disregard the human rights of immigrants from "shithole" countries (which he reportedly defined as not being "countries like Norway") throughout his presidency, is once again using anti-immigrant prejudice as a rallying point. Nor is he the only Republican politician doing this, as we can see from the recent actions of Florida governor De Santis and Texas governor Abbot, among others. See
