Nowhere is the hypocrisy of Republican politicians, who are condemning President Biden for abandoning the people of Afghanistan, and especially its women, to the barbaric, murderous Taliban regime, which does not even regard women as human beings, more obvious that in the latest moves by the Texas legislature and governor to extinguish democracy in that state, while continuing to violate the human rights of brown immigrants at the Mexican border.

Texas is now showing that the right wing attacks on brown immigrants, which Texas is promoting by threatening to build its own border wall, sending state troops to the border to usurp federal law, and by also usurping federal immigration law by suing in federal court to reinstate Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy, are part of a larger white supremacist, agenda which threatens to impose fascist rule on the US.

The new Texas voting restrictions law, which is openly aimed at limiting the franchise to affluent white people, is only the latest example. Beyond that, the new Texas abortion law, which criminalizes all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, is a fascist style attack on women's human rights that would make the Taliban itself proud.

The GOP dominated Supreme Court, which voted 5-4 not to block the Texas law, with the three Trump appointed Justices in the majority, once again disgraced itself - just as it did when it ordered President Biden to reinstate the racist. cruel and inhuman Trump-Miller "Remain in Mexico" policy against non-white asylum seekers.

All of these events show that the Republican attacks on immigration should not be viewed in isolation, but as part of a larger campaign to shut down our democracy, extinguish the human rights of non-white US and foreign citizens alike and, ultimately, set up a fascist dictatorship in America.
