It is not a coincidence that thee on January 12, the day before Donald Trump became the first president in US history to be impeached twice for his role in inciting violence at the US Capitol, the chief executive whom the Washington Post a calls the worst president in modern US history (in a January 14 editorial) once again tried to deflect attention away from his dismal record of racism and gross abuses of power.
As he has done so often during his four years in office, Trump did this once again by stirring up fear and hatred against nonwhite immigrants in general, and asylum seekers in particular, during a final visit to his showcase Mexican border Wall. See Vox, January 12:
