The American Immigration Lawyers Association is reporting that it's informal survey of courier services indicates as many as 200,000 H-1B applications may have been received yesterday. While this figure may not be accurate and while many of the applications may have been for cap-exempt and master's quota cases, the news is still shocking. It also means that many people who think they're starting work on October 1st could be sorely disappointed. The pressure on Congress to fix this will no doubt be increased if this news is, in fact, true.
