I remember hearing about Israeli-Brit Uri Geller when I was a kid and the amazing claims of his ability to bend spoons with his mind. The "mentalist" Geller has remained quite popular in England and NBC Television here in the US will show his new show The Phenomenon beginning in late October.

I think the last time I saw him on TV over here was on an episode of "Most Haunted", where he plugged himself with some nonsense about how Russian scientists had done an experiment on the spoon and found the mass to be missing after Uri had rubbed it.
Whatever, Uri.
All I can say is: James Randi, Uri Geller, The Tonight Show, 1973.
People are entiltled to their opinion and I believe Uri has highly developed intuitive capabilities, he is a consumate showman who does posess some very unique abilitys, more to the point though, Uri is a very charitable person, and spends an inordinate amount of his free time (and money) is supporting good causes, an aspect of his work which his detractors never pick up on.
