The Democratic and GOP national conventions will likely treat immigration in very different ways. The Democrats will seek to convince Hispanic voters that they are the party that will be able to deliver immigration reform. The Republicans - well, not so much. Expect the subject to be stripped from discussion lest the party nominee be embarrassed.

It will be interesting to see if Mac picks Kay B Hutchinson and cement some of that Clinton vote. Condy Rice will be too much trouble.
Agree with the comments on the Southern wing of GOP
I think he will win the popular vote but loose the electoral college...heck he may even win the popular vote by nearly a million by carryign NY, IL and CA by lopsided margins...but the only way for a GOP recovery in the House and the Senate is a potential Obama Presidency. If McCain gets in..you are looking at the destruction of GOP in 2010 followed by redistricting and more destruction in 2012.
