French-born Eric Ripert is one of the nation's best known chefs. He gained fame as the chef at New York's La Bernardin restaurant and has helped the restaurant garner top ratings from the New York Times and Michelin's restaurant guide. Ripert has recently opened restaurants in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Ripert has gained fame with the American public through publication of several cookbooks as well as his various television appearances (including stints as a guest judge on Bravo's Top Chef).
