I would strongly suggest that Jack rant about his opposition to focusing on maximizing GDP to the people who are unemployed, when we are under the threat of another protracted slowdown at best or another recession at worst! Overpopulation talk is for people who have already made it in live or who are wealthy. I know one such person at the National University of Singapore..his name is Professor Banoji Rao..now why would he favor slow growth to so-called overpopulation...what the hell does he care about other people...he has made it in life and he does not want other people to make it. Jack is in the same boat...probably well off and does not care whether others make it or not...that is the reason people rant against the focus on GDP.
